Crowns

A crown involves covering the entire tooth surface to restore it to its original shape and size. A crown is needed when the tooth cannot be restored with a filling or other type of restoration.

Indications of needing a crown:

• Fractured teeth
• Extensively decayed teeth
• Root canal treated teeth
• Cosmetics
• Large fillings

During the treatment, the tooth will be prepared by removing any decay/damage and shaping the tooth surfaces to properly fit the crown. Then an impression will be taken to create a customized crown. A temporary crown will be placed in the first appointment and in the second appointment, the permanent crown will be cemented after checking that it fits properly and the bite is even.
