Composite Fillings

A composite filling involves repairing and restoring the surface of a tooth that has been damaged by decay, fracture, or wear. When not treated in a prompt manner, it will worsen leading to other dental treatments such as root canal therapy and crowns.

During the actual treatment, the tooth will be prepared by removing the decayed or damaged tooth surface then cleansed to remove debris and bacteria. An adhesive will be applied then composite filling will be placed and ex-posed to hand-held light to harden the material. It is fairly common to experience sensitivity to hot and cold initially after composite filling, however this will subside shortly once the tooth gets accustomed to the new filling.
